The therapists at Big Sky Counseling Associates offer a full DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Program, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing), Prolonged Exposure, Hakomi and Individual Therapy. Descriptions of these types of treatment can be found on the Services Page.
Each therapist at Big Sky Counseling Associates specializes in servicing different groups. Typical problems addressed are past trauma, chronic trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, self-harm, suicidal behaviors, dissociative issues, eating disorders, infertility issues, phase of life problems and personal development goals.
Our Independent Practioners
Natalie is a compassionate individual in both her work and personal life. She strives to understand her clients’ unique struggles and phenomenology while remaining empathic, nonjudgmental, and transparent. Natalie’s myriad range of education, training, and experience helps her to foster a supportive and trusting relationship with her clientele. She enjoys working with men, women, adolescents, families, and couples.
Candace specializes in treating individuals with Severe Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Severe Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Substance Abuse and Eating Disorders. Candace has been trained in Prolonged Exposure for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and is currently being trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Emily Krushefski has always been fascinated by the behavior of people. She listens closely to her clients in an attempt to completely understand presenting concerns and she demonstrates persistence in attempting to find skills or options that will be helpful in meeting client needs. Emily received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago in 1998.
Jen works with individuals; adults and adolescents. She practices authenticity and presence with each person, helping to identify personal goals and needs. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia in Athens in 1997 and a Master’s Degree in Health and Human Development in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University in May of 2003.
Kim strives to make strong connections with her clients and focuses on providing care in a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment. She specializes in working with adolescents who have multiple issues such as self harming behaviors, substance use, depression and anxiety. Additionally, she specializes in working with eating disorders and severe trauma. Kim completed her graduate training at the University of Montana, with her main focus of study in the school psychology program.
Cathy’s intention is to help clients achieve deep life transformation in an environment where they are free from judgment, fully accepted, and deeply engaged. Working primarily from a psychodynamic perspective, she aims to guide individuals in finding their flow, so that they can enjoy a life filled with increased ease, pleasure, and joy. Cathy has been trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Attachment theory, The Hakomi Method, Mindfulness and other treatment modalities. Licensed as both a Professional Counselor and Attorney, Cathy presents a broad perspective based on vast life experience and education.
