Jen Tainter is curious and intrigued by human interaction and behavior.  She grew up in South Carolina with an older sister.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia in Athens in 1997 and a Master’s Degree in Health and Human Development in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University in May of 2003.  Jen moved to Bozeman in 1997 after several consecutive summer seasons working in Yellowstone National Park while completing her undergraduate degree.  She has worked in a variety of internships prior to licensure.  She worked at the Gallatin Mental Health Center providing case management and mental health counseling. Jen became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in December 2004.  In April of 2005, Jen moved into full time private practice.

 

Jen continues with private practice and works with individuals; adults and adolescents.  She practices authenticity and presence with each person, helping to identify personal goals and needs.  Jen is attentive with challenge to provide the highest quality of care, insight of individual understanding of one’s emotional experience, expanding self- determination, and improvement in overall quality of life.
 
Jen is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
